The International Disaster Times is an electronic newsletter of worldwide disaster events described in the same format as entries in the Disaster Database Project.  At least 200 issues of the newsletter are published each year, with the frequency and timing depending on the density of events.  Annual subscriptions to International Disaster Times cost $95.00 (US). Starts 2007.

 

The Disaster Database Project

The Disaster Database Project is a living database of disaster events across time and around the world.  Each event is described in time and place, geolocated for search, assessed with standard quantitative measures, described in short narrative format, and evaluated using qualitative content analysis.  Annual subscriptions to the database cost $50 (US) for individuals and $500 (US) for multiple user institutional accounts.

The Electronic Encyclopaedia of Civil Defense and Emergency Management

The Electronic Encyclopaedia is a living reference volume of short articles on subjects related to the history, theory, and practice of air raid precautions, civil defense, and emergency management. 

 

 

The Republic of Perilo

The Republic of Perilo is an online virtual micronation, created to as a testbed for disaster planning and programmatics.  This is a living simulation of a developing nation, and you are invited to participate in a regular schedule of online disaster tabletop exercises, to develop and test procedures and plans in these exercises, and to establish programs that will guide future disaster readiness.
